Chapter 11: No Need for His Choice

A group of people all stepped down from the train, following the towering, slender figure of Yang Zicang as he walked forward. They made their way past various blades, sabers, forks, cleavers, and other weapons strewn across the ground, heading toward the bloodstain that gradually stretched outside the house.

In the square outside the house, the terrified crowd of over a thousand was already looking toward the blasted room. From within, at least thirty people of various skin tones and styles of dress emerged.

A dim, shadowy suspended subway car glided smoothly toward the side and ahead, blocking the direction in which the blood trail extended.

The people over there, seeing the sinister train approaching, quickly scattered like a swarm of bees.

……

“He’s still invisible,” Captain Qin, behind that silhouette, said softly to Young Master Wang.

Xiao Yushan walked alongside the group, his heart pounding like a drum. The few people near him were in a similar state of mind.

Yang Zicang’s spear tip dragged along the ground, tracing a winding path through the bloodstains.

“I’ll give you a choice.”

As he walked, he said coldly, “Tell me where your remaining people are, and I’ll give you a quick end.”

The trail of blood paused in its flow, then, after two or three seconds, it shifted direction and headed elsewhere.

Boboli stepped out from the crowd with a blank expression.

He first looked at Yang Zicang, then turned his gaze to Morrie, a deep sense of loss evident on his face.

A triangular line of light appeared on the boy’s chest, slowly rotating before suddenly expanding. People for miles around heard a voice that carried thoughts and intent.

{I is Nuns. Bob. Poly, from Big Ming. Distribution to the capture warrant there to the Time Migration Group.}

The light flashed and was gone; the eyes of those around shifted over. Light flashed again on the boy’s chest.

{Time Migration Group, culpable of heinous crimes for using time migration abilities to deceive others’ models. Reward for claiming the head of a member: 5,000 time sequence for an ordinary one; for the group’s leader, a manual of *Technique-Type Proxy Practice Agreement*.}

Subsequently, a sheet of luminous energy emerged in his hand, forming a paper-like shape.

Then another volume appeared.

Next, strands of light converged, rapidly forming a new image of a scroll.

Another volume!

Young Master Wang was already drooling, swallowing hard.

The triangular pattern on the boy’s chest flickered for the third time.

This time, as soon as the financing request surfaced, people from dozens of miles around rushed to join, all eager to know what had happened—how could Shiqian steal a model? Who were they? Was it true or false?

Boboli raised the training contract in his hand.

{This is the “Secret-type Training Contract” provided by our PM Group.}

“Training contract?”

“What’s that?”

Amid the confusion, everyone linked to the financing model saw the naturally presented information embedded in the luminous scroll in the natural-curly-haired boy’s hand.

《Training Contract: Frost-Snow Sword Technique, Eighty-Seven Years of Cultivation Experience, Completion: 100%》

《Training Contract: Blazing Sword Path, Crystal Perception, One Hundred and Three Years of Cultivation Experience, Completion: 100%》

《Training Contract: Thousand-Arm Fist, Crystal Perception, Silent Night, Ninety-Seven Years of Cultivation Experience, Completion: 100%》

Instantly, the financing model erupted. Countless voices rose, all filled with astonishment and exclamations.

{Is that a skill book?!}

{A training contract? Does that mean someone practiced these skills for over ninety years and then directly transferred all that martial art experience to us?}

{Ahhh, so that’s their secret. My god, so Yang Zicang is part of that kind of team!}

The crowd erupted like a frenzy!

“What kind of secret technique is Crystal Perception, appearing in both books?”

“Have you noticed, the users of this secret technique all have around a hundred years of experience!”

“And what does ‘Silent Night’ mean?”

Temporal investments poured in like a waterfall, but were suddenly cut off by the boy.

Yet in that short span of less than ten seconds, Boboli gained thousands of temporal credits, all coming from people who invested in 1R, 10R, or 1Y increments—everyone was afraid of sending him to his demise instantly, so they held back, but all wanted to connect with him.

“Holy shit, so that’s what it is!” Captain Qin grabbed Young Master Wang beside him. “Bro, bro, weren’t you going to tell me about this?”

Young Master Wang turned his eyes evasively: “Just then it was so urgent—well, I was thinking we’d save it for dinner, when us brothers could chat leisurely in the private room with old pal Morrie.”

“Are you sure about that, Brother Wang!”

“I know, but I didn’t get a chance to tell you all.”

At this moment, Qin Wenkang felt his skin burning all over.

Earlier, when they heard the mission was to save Yang Zicang, the other two or three dozen people dragged in were stunned—was someone actually plotting against him? Only after arriving with Morrie did they realize how dangerous and terrifying this was.

Someone could actually steal the halo from his chest! Without that thing, people from Earth would instantly be cast into an abyss in this world.

Captain Qin has no interest in dwelling on Young Master Wang’s evasive words; his mind is now completely consumed with how to wipe out all of Shi Qian’s team.

All twenty to thirty people around him are buzzing with excitement, many wanting to contact their teammates but unable to connect to Hub Town.

“My god!” A man gripping a soup ladle exclaims, his face flushed red. “What a damned shame Boss Meng didn’t come to see this with his own eyes!”

“This… isn’t this…” Xiao Yushan, holding the sword hilt, is also stunned, sheer disbelief written all over his face.

The red-haired youth beside Xiao Yushan looks at him:

“Brother Shan, that *Sword Art of Blazing Flames* we got… isn’t that exactly the one?”

“Yeah, I looked into it. The Sword techniques in it are simple—even mastering it only puts you at an intermediate swordsmanship level unless you can unleash flames. But to stimulate the fire elemental… an ordinary person would need at least twenty to thirty years of training just for that… Him… them, on the other hand…”

The red-haired man swallows hard.

“They actually turned such a difficult book into a cipher codex you can learn directly!”

“How terrifying… Is this… the team behind Yang Zicang? Was it him?”

Xiao Yushan frantically runs both hands through his hair.

“Alexander Mori was actually Yang Zicang’s captain…”

They finally understand why Mori was able to live in the rich quarter.

No, even that place is playing it safe for him! Alexander Mord could be staying somewhere better—he could afford to eat three different lavish meals a day at a place like Precious Delicacies, he could wear any clothes he wanted, but he never chose to.

He simply maintained the living standards of an ordinary person on Earth.

“It’s a pity the guys didn’t come along to see it.”

Captain Qin let out a sigh. He had already lost contact with the outside of the Frequency-Loss Zone. However, at this moment, he stayed close to Young Master Wang and Morrie, convinced that as long as he was near them, he would surely find a chance to strike up a conversation with Morrie.

Boboli glanced at the crowd whose emotions had been ignited around him, then turned to meet Yang Zicang’s questioning gaze, which held a hint of confusion but no trace of blame.

Boboli looked at the bloodstain on the ground and said,

“I don’t need his choice.”

The boy indifferently raised a book containing three secret techniques, drawing countless scorching gazes toward it.

Boboli spoke to the bloodstain on the ground, “This reward, of which person it belongs to, corresponds to him.”

The crowd was shocked. The curly-haired boy had placed a heavy bet just to deprive Shadowless of the option to “die a painless death”!

……

Someone hurried over carrying a chair and placed it behind Boboli with a flattering gesture.

Another person brought a small cabinet to serve as a table, setting it beside him and placing a water cup on it.

Boboli nodded. Taking a seat, he placed the half-translucent glowing book on it, his gaze fixed firmly on the twisted bloodstain on the ground.

Under the watch of countless eyes, the bloodstain remained trapped in place, like a headless fly unable to find its way.

A series of ripples appeared in the air and shot over. Luo Bin, Zuo Feixian, and others had already received the news, shaking with shock and rage.

Just then, a particularly distinct ripple shot over, carrying the voice of a girl from Rose Creek.

“[Yang Zicang], Rose Sister asks if you’ve been injured, and if you’re all okay.”

[“I’m fine. Thank the Rose Queen for her concern. I apologize for last time; I’ll make amends when I, Yang Zicang, have time.”]

Even though he had stolen many Divine Stones from the various shed districts that night, everyone already knew what followed.

“Hmph! Sister Rose always says you’re a real scumbag, but at least you seem to admit your faults now.”

The crowd was now a commotion, some trembling from narrow escapes, others scratching their heads, seduced by the high rewards.

“How did this bastard manage to go invisible?”

“Dig a hole! Dump in boiling water!”

The echo of one yell had barely died away, another shouted.

“Iron sheets! Use iron sheet boxes!”

“Yeah, surround him with them and set a fire. Damn it! I knew it wasn’t just small-time mischief where he pretended to be a good guy. The bastard was after the schematic!”

Through the chaos, several men with panicked faces were shoved forward.

“This scum belongs to Shi Qian’s crew!”

“No, please! I don’t know anything! I swear they’re just a bunch of thieves is all I know!”

Several takers were shoved out. [Boboli] swept his gaze over them, nodding lightly. “Very good. Collection comes to five-seven-three-point-five.”

Ptlgh! Ptlgh! Ptlgh! Ptlgh!

Blood sprayed and heads rolled.

Several coins shimmering with metallic luster arced through the air, falling to the ground, where multiple hands scrambled forth to snatch them.
