Chapter 12: Pervading Fury

As several bodies fell in succession, the girl responsible for communication beside Queen Rose, on the other side of Yang Zicang’s Mental Link, immediately covered her mouth and screamed.

{Ah! You’re killing people.}

Yang Zicang pinched his fist, coughed twice lightly, nodded, and said in his mind:

[These people in this team can steal others’ models. You should know that by now.]

The girl on the other side fell silent. Here, even the most naive understood that certain things could only be washed away with blood.

The surrounding noise persisted as several figures tried to weave through the crowd to escape, stirring up chaos.

“He’s also from the Shi Qian team.”

“And that one! I saw him—he came with that guy surnamed Li.”

Two more people were grabbed and shoved to the front of the human wall.

“I—we’re not!” stammered one man, whose accent wasn’t very authentic, in panic.

Thud!

As a head hit the ground instantly, the other man trembled in fear and said:

“Wait, hold on! I’ll provide clues—clues about the others! I haven’t done anything yet.”

Yang Zicang said, “Tell me everything you know, and you’ll be spared.”

“Chu Jun. All of tonight was orchestrated by Chu Jun. He used his ability to suggest that Zhang Xian, the shed owner here, hold this gathering under the guise of a memorial ceremony—both a memorial and a celebration. It also gave an excuse to invite the major clients.”

“What!”

Zhang Xian, who had survived by stepping out to toast drinks, stood dumbfounded.

“Suggestion ability? Tell me more.”

“Yes, it’s a modeling ability that makes people follow Chu Jun’s orders. Although it doesn’t always work, the success rate is quite high.”

A chilling sense of dread rose in Yang Zicang’s heart, and he finally understood where the sudden impulse he felt at the dinner table had come from.

Zhang Xian and the other campsite leaders responsible for organizing the gathering were all terrified.

However, this also cleared them of suspicion.

The captured man spoke with a tremble in his voice:

“Many people were put under suggestion by Chu Jun, and Chu Jun’s ‘suggestion’ ability was also stolen.”

Wow! The crowd erupted in uproar. This was absolutely terrifying.

The man continued:

“And on the way here, I also heard another member of the Shiqian organization, pfft, another one named Li Shangxiang, say that once he got Chu Jun’s psychological suggestion ability, he would go to Rose Creek to subdue those beauties and make them all madly in love with him.”

The woman at the other end of the sensory image was momentarily stunned. Then he continued.

“He said he dreams every night of being in bed battling the Rose Queen… you know, doing *it*.”

Yang Zicang’s brow twitched. Another Li Shangxiang?

The people erupted in noise around him.

“Damn! I’ve never met the Rose Queen, but I’ve heard that woman is gorgeous—graceful and shapely, with legs as tender as can be.”

“The Shiqian team is setting their sights on the Rose Queen? Gah, they’re chasing after all the beauties there!”

{Yang Zicang, shut him up! Ah~ Sister Rose, Yang Zicang, Sister Rose says kill him!}

Yang Zicang quickly severed the Mental Link.

The girl’s link tried to reconnect, but Yang Zicang hastily picked a random Mental Link to connect with, to ease the awkwardness of facing her directly.

{Oh my god, it’s the great Zicang, finally connected to you. I adore you so much, can you invest a bit for me? Even just some trash will do.}

The link was cut off.

A group of people was bustling around the bloodstains, racing to carve the area into an isolated patch.

“What other information is there? Keep talking.”

Without Yang Zicang and his crew urging him on, someone was already dragging that guy, forcing him to divulge more information about Shi Qian.

“A few days ago, Major Client’s move brought out many unknown but powerful models in the Lost Frequency Land. The Shi Qian team already made initial assignments. The Dragon King’s precious mental ability goes to the Third Master, the seductive Young Lady from Qushui Shed District’s hypnosis healing ability goes to the Fifth Master…”

The crowd was already seething with anger.

“So despicable!”

“Thank goodness my ability isn’t very strong, not among the top tier,” someone said with relief.

The man continued, “Even those non-top-tier models, they plan to use suggestive abilities to win them over one by one, making them capable members of the team.”

“Pfft!” Some people who just took a sip of wine to calm their nerves instantly spat it out.

“Even if they can’t fully tame it, when they encounter a particularly interesting model ability, they can still steal it, turn it into an Ability Sphere for trading, and give us lower-level members something to swap out.”

“Do they intend to sell us off like pigs?”

Everyone was unsettled.

The events here had already garnered attention from all sides; the links spread layer by layer, and now they had almost reached most of the Lost Frequency Land.

Through the mental links of the few red-model individuals here, many people, including the Rose Queen, had already heard these words, sending chills down the spines of countless others.

……

Black Dragon Mountain Settlement.

“Shi Qian!”

Bang! The sturdy man’s slap almost shattered the tree trunk beside him.

Minutes ago, the Black Dragon King, who had been digging and clearing debris from a house, saw someone suddenly run up in a panic, shouting that there was huge news: Yang Zicang had almost been ambushed.

Less than three minutes into the mental link feed, still coveting the secret technique and sneering that Yang Zicang deserved it, the Black Dragon King erupted in fury.

“Shi Qian’s team, I’ll tear you limb from limb!”

……

Inside a derelict small city with collapsed walls, circled by a river, an elegant, ancient palace stood tall amid the ruins.

In the spacious hall of Rose Creek, it was just dinner time.

The voluptuous, beautiful woman seated at the center of the long dining table clamped her mouth shut. The rims of her ears flushed red-hot, her chest rose and fell slowly, and her eyes were half-veiled like silken threads, daring not to meet the gazes of the others on either side of the table.

“Sister Rose.” The girl who had originally been asking Yang Zicang for him looked at the woman innocently.

“It’s okay, even if you didn’t tell me, Big Sister has already heard it.” Beside her, another young woman linked to the Red Model over there had an even redder face than the Rose Queen’s.

“Shi Qian.” Xu Aiyuan gritted her silver teeth and muttered softly.

Without her needing to give an order, the crowd eating on both sides of the long joint table spanning the hall had already darkened their faces, calling friends and companions and sharpening their weapons.

“How dare they set their sights on Miss Aiyuan.”

“I’ll make them move something else.”

……

Qushui Shed Area.

The female shed owner, who had always been as gentle as water, now looked at the scene in the Mental Link with a face as cold as ice. Those around her could vaguely see steam rising from her head, as if something was scorching.

……

Inside the Desolate Chariot.

The Desolate Lord scrambled out of the bronze chariot, dumping a bag of Ability Spheres clattering into a deep pit he had shaken open with the earthquake.

“Boss.”

The people around gathered around, and the Desolate Lord turned his head to look, “Get lost, all of you get lost. You’re all Shi Qian’s people!”

Everyone exchanged glances. In the end, no one dared to defy his words, and they filed out from beside him, jumped off the chariot, and watched him.

“Go to hell, you fucking beasts. No wonder Ming Ying couldn’t be contacted for so long, but a Wu Ying shows up instead. Go fuck yourself.”

He cursed loudly at the Ability Spheres in the pit, no longer daring to touch a single one in the bag, afraid that if he so much as brushed against one, his own Model would vanish.

In front of the chariot, the bronze sculpture Warrior sitting on the bronze chariot slowly turned his head.

{Why the fury.}

“Charioteer, this thing can actually steal Models! Isn’t that fatal?! Quick, we need to move—those people from Shiqian know we’re here.”

{Hmm… Do you mean it almost killed your left-hand man, or something else.}

The bronze man stood up and gripped the chariot railing; the two bronze horses in front stepped forward, exiting the collapsed cave and then racing swiftly across the desolate plain, kicking up a trail of dust in the gathering darkness.

……

Many shelter zones had already received this explosive news.

They already knew that there were several identical people, all of them named Li Shangxiang.

……

Wuying was cornered with nowhere to escape. He wanted to seek help from the other Li Shangxiangs, to invest in heading to the mysterious place where many had vanished—perhaps there he might find a slim chance at survival.

However, the four Li Shangxiangs were now in no position to save themselves; their deaths were merely a countdown.

{Yang Zicang, I’m sorry. Spare me.}

Silk threads flickered, and Wuying’s broken line shot toward him.

{If you capture one of the Li Shangxiangs alive, I am willing to hand over my Invisibility ability.}

Yang Zicang cast a cold, indifferent gaze at the trench the crowd had dug into the ground; they were pouring buckets of boiling water and hot oil into it, while large fires blazed all around.

Some people had already brought iron buckets, while others fetched items like iron plates.

Yang Zicang remained completely silent.

The slightly feverish young man sat on the left side of the square, watching the bustling crowd with a domineering posture.

The link broke.

But soon, another thread shot toward Boboli.

 Every time I checked before posting, I felt there were no typos. But as soon as I sent it out and looked again, I spotted them immediately. It almost blinded me.
